Winter Wishlist: Mostly Korean Brands

As the weather gets colder, I start thinking about what I actually want to wear this winter. Some pieces I bought, some I’m still debating, and some are just fun to daydream about. Here’s what’s been on my mind lately.
You can never have too many V-neck knits. Right?
Almost all my winter knits are V-necks at this point. I think it’s because I just love playing with color combinations using thin turtlenecks underneath. They show more of whatever you layer underneath, and even in fall they feel less stuffy around the neck, which I love.
The annoying part? Korean brands tend to make sleeves short unless it’s oversized, so they often hit me at that awkward length. I always end up wishing they were just a tiny bit longer.
A sheer, soft turtleneck to layer underneath
It needs to be thin enough that your skin tone shows through a little, fitting tightly to the body but not too tight so it doesn’t bulk up under a V-neck, and most importantly, not be scratchy.
I recently bought a turtleneck from alte, and it’s perfect. The mint shade is a warm-toned mint, but because the skin slightly shows through, it becomes this subtle, mysterious color. The sky blue is also beautiful. The thickness is ideal for layering, and it’s not itchy at all.
Matching them with all my knits is the most fun part.
Bootcut pants
Bootcuts suit me really well, but finding a pair that’s long enough to cover shoes properly and made of interesting fabric is nearly impossible. They’re usually awkwardly short, or the material looks cheap, or the pattern is off.
Finally I found a gorgeous velvet pair, but… way too expensive for my freelancer budget. So for now, I’m pretending they don’t exist.
Slim, not Heavy Fur Jacket
I don’t like clothes that feel heavy. And in winter, many fashion people wear huge, voluminous fur jackets… but after several failures, I realized only thin fur jacket works for me. It’s the only kind I actually reach for.
Ninja Boots
Every winter I get obsessed with boots again. The “Ninja Boots” I saw in Dongdaemun recently are still haunting me. They got their name from the rubber sole attached at the bottom so that they look casual, grip the ground well, and basically make you move like a ninja.
And then today Jiji told me Miista has such cute boots, so I clicked… and guess what? My destiny boots were there. The Ninja Boots—but in a miista version.
I’ll wait until next year's Black Friday.
Short Hair Temptation Season
And winter fashion doesn’t stop at clothes—it always messes with my hair decisions too. Every winter, turtlenecks + short hair suddenly look so chic again, and I get the urge to chop my hair. I’m growing it out right now, so I’m fighting the temptation like 10 times a day.
But let’s be honest—scarves, turtlenecks, winter coats… everything looks better with a tight little short haircut.
Wrapping up
Whenever I don’t feel like working, I just think about all the things I want to buy and wear. Then suddenly I feel like working again. If you ever don’t feel like working, I honestly recommend this method too. Not the best for your “responsible adult” financial mindset, probably, but it works for me.
